Fagg's Market Building

John J. Burns received title to this property on August 31, 1907. During the 1920s, it housed a candy store on the north side of the building, with an ice cream shop on the south, plus a creamery and ice cream plant in the alley.

By 1931, the current brick structure was constructed, along with a two-story apartment. In the 1940s, Fagg's Market occupied the north half until the partition was removed in 1951. The owner-operated store served customers on a first-name basis, allowing them to charge groceries and pay by the month.

Bob's Bargain Store succeeded it, operated by Bob Seaquist, who offered humorous advertising slogans including "Shop here don't worry about credit — pay cash!" In 1978, Bill and Pearl Amen purchased the building and expanded their Tots to Teens children's clothing store into it in 1989. The building retains period brickwork, and corner medallions mark the signboard at the top.
